CATE Conference 2023
In March of 2023, we led two workshops at the California Association of Teachers of English (CATE) Conference in Monterey. The titles of the workshops were “What Are We Doing Here, Anyway? Rethinking and Reaffirming Our Job as English Teachers” and “Weird Lit: Teaching the Postmodern, the Absurd, the Avant-Garde to Engage Reluctant (Or Just Bored) Readers.” Read more about the presentations here.

In February of 2020, we led two workshops at the California Association of Teachers of English (CATE) Conference in Los Angeles. Stockton Unified, October 2018
In October 0f 2018, we led a full-day professional development workshop at Stockton Unified School District’s PD Day. The topic of the workshop was rigorously and authentically pairing literary and informational text standards.

Tracy Unified School District Professional Development
During the 2017-2018 school year (in August, January, and March, specifically), we facilitated professional development workshops for English Language Arts teachers at Tracy Unified School District in Tracy, CA.
The workshops focused on building literature-based units of study that meet the demands of Common Core.

Teacher Appreciation Days at Face in a Book in El Dorado Hills

On January 19th, 2017, we discussed and signed copies of Method to the Madness at Face in a Book in El Dorado Hills, CA as part of their Teacher Appreciation Day.
It is a wonderful store, and we had a great time sharing stories with teachers and with the store’s staff.
